Born in the US and of Lebanese Brazilian descent, I spent most of my life between Tokyo, Paris, California and New York and am now based in London. I consider myself a modern day hobo -- but to keep the intro chic, let's say "citizen of the world".
I never really fit into one given mold, and still don't. By always being an odd ball out, I was able to internalize a mindset that is core to NGFJ: don't think outside the box. Think like there is no box.
My goal: make ordinary products extraordinary.
How did I get here? After majoring in both Art and Economics at Stanford University I started working for BCG's Luxury Practice Group in NY, followed by a 2-year management track program for Hermes. This experience fueled my passion for jewelry and appreciation for great craftsmanship giving rise to a desire to create, to build and to share my vision.
With no background in the jewelry industry or true sense of direction at 25 I took a chance, left my job (almost got kicked out of the house) and developed from scratch what has become NGFJ today.
NGFJ designs are inspired by people, travels and cultures. Designs are meant to be a marker of our time and revert back to the notion of jewelry being something that speaks to generations, makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside and cracks a smile on your face.
For the past two years it has been a daily challenge to stay relevant, to continue to evolve and to grow organically and sustainably. It takes risks, balls (I mean brows) and a whole lot of vulnerability.
I hope this raw depiction of NGFJ's journey moves you, inspires you and encourages dialogue -- come along for the ride @nadineghosnjewelry!
